Since 2004, NAP has served as the exclusive provider for some 30+ titles written by Mike Matthews. At his behest, we are transitioning a number of his works to Amazon as a means to further fund our mutual commitment of providing high school students with Young Author Contests.
If you teach creative writing at the high school level and would like to know more about hosting a Young Author Contest, please use the Contact Us button below. Thank you.
Mike Matthews is known for weaving the intricacies of tragic love and desperate hope into a kaleidoscope of adult literature. For 30-years, Mike has memorialized the real events of people he has encountered during his many travels.
The Legendary ZIPPO is one such adventure that captures the uplifting story of one dad, on one day, told to his one son, by fellow Marines.
Nothing can prepare you for the raw and revealing life lessons that are passed on in a legacy, shrouded in an American flag.
This is a true story.
Someone once said, “There are two types of writers, those who plan every page, and those who simply hear voices.”
Mike Matthews is certainly the latter of the two, and in this experimental work, he has released the voices in his head by crafting The Pitch entirely as pure dialogue to create an amazing reading experience.
While your hands will know you are reading a book, your mind’s eye will watch a movie unfold, giving you a real-life encounter limited only by your own imagination.
There’s no “he said, she said” descriptive filler cluttering the pages, or the action. Just the real-life conversations you would hear when you’re standing right where Mike puts you, at the center of it all.
The Pitch is the first installment in The Destiny Chronicles, a 6-part series destined to set a Guinness World Record as the longest novel written as pure dialogue.
Each installment picks-up right where the previous one ends, providing a continuous flow as the series digs into the multi-faceted lives of characters so real, their voices will haunt you.

What is a Workshop Edition?
Although most recreational readers will enjoy The Good Wolf as it is featured in this edition, it is actually the required textbook for writers and editors wanting to develop not only their craft, but also build new roads to monetize their skills and talents in the ever-evolving world of both traditional and self-publishing.
A majority of workshop participants enroll simply to learn the finer details and techniques that will help their own work shine, but they are also hesitant to share their manuscripts, or have yet to start writing their first novel, which is perfectly fine, because we understand how daunting a writer’s journey can be, let alone, the basic concern of who you can trust with your original work.
That is why participants learn from, and work with, the same "first draft" of The Good Wolf in order to apply the lessons that are taught each week through a variety of methods, including ZOOM class instruction, small group collaborative exercises, and individual assignments, somewhat akin to homework, but without the pressure of grades.
By the end of the course, each participant that has completed his or her own edited version of The Good Wolf will not only be invited to join our nationwide network of free-lance editors, but they will also receive “limited publishing rights” to their version.
LANDSLIDE is your first-class ticket to a provocative, high-altitude adventure as two strangers collide in the world of political discourse.
While on her way to a job interview, an unsuspecting college student is bumped from her New York flight to Chicago and accepts a stranger’s offer to upgrade her to first class. With mimosa in hand, Christine soon finds herself defending her thesis 30,000 feet in the air.
From airport check-in to catching the cab home, you will be rooting and laughing along with the passengers of United Flight 312 as they debate life, liberty, and how fake news cost Hillary Clinton the Oval Office.
Written entirely as dialogue to create an amazing reading experience, there’s no “he said, she said” descriptive filler cluttering the pages, or the action. Just the real-life conversations you would hear when you’re standing right where Mike puts you, at the center of it all.
While your hands will know you are reading a book, your mind’s eye will watch a movie unfold, giving you a real-life encounter limited only by your own imagination.
This is a true story. Out of respect for conservatives, names have been changed. Out of respect for liberals, the events have been told exactly as they occurred.
In this Limited Critical Edition, fans will enjoy a combination of both scholarship on Dylan Thomas as well as moments of memoir that are juxtaposed against the onset of COVID-19.
Personal, yet poignant, Mike Matthews shares insights into the craft of writing, while also weaving into the narrative the final hours he spent beside his mother's deathbed.
Raw and revealing, yet tender in its darkest moments, Mike takes you on a journey aboard “The Dylan Thomas Train.”
