Workshops with Mike Matthews

The Big Picture

The "Seven Sins" workshop is an intense program for writers often plagued with the chains of self-editing. Attendees will actively participate in both individual and small group exercises. After all, it is a workshop!

How to Attend

"Seven Sins" will be offered as a joint venture by the Mokena Writers' Guild, the Writers Group in New Lenox, and The League of Aspiring Writers in Tinley Park. You must register for this FREE workshop in order to receive the course material in advance.  Doors open at 6:00 PM for current members and guests.

Space is limited: March 11, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Mokena Public Library 11327 195th Street in Mokena, IL 60448

Before You Attend

Once you have registered, you will receive the course material which we strongly recommend you complete before the workshop. It consists of 7 simple assignments that can be completed in 15-minute increments or less for more experienced writers. It is best to do one exercise per day, but the world won't end if you go another route. Of course, you can email us with any questions you may have about the assignments.

When You Attend

Please come early, especially if you have questions about your completed assignments. This workshop is normally a 2-hour program that will be condensed to 60-minutes. That means it will start at 6:30 pm sharp, and allow 7-minutes for each of the 7 assignments. We know it sounds rushed, but this is not the first time we delivered an amazing program when all the attendees come prepared. So do your homework, and we look forward to seeing you on March 11.
